At Righteous Livity Wellness, we are proud to offer the CDC-recognized National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP)—a proven, evidence-based approach to preventing Type 2 diabetes and developing lifelong healthy habits.
This yearlong program is designed for those at risk, including individuals with prediabetes, obesity, or a family history of diabetes. It provides the structure and support needed for true lifestyle transformation, with:
Weekly sessions for the first six months to establish healthy habits

The symptoms of Type 2 diabetes can develop gradually and may go unnoticed for a long time. However, common signs to watch for include:
Increased thirst (Polydipsia) – Feeling excessively thirsty even when drinking fluids.
Frequent urination (Polyuria) – Needing to urinate more often, especially at night.
Extreme hunger (Polyphagia) – Feeling constantly hungry, even after eating.
Unexplained weight loss – Losing weight without trying, despite increased hunger.
Fatigue – Feeling tired or exhausted, even with adequate rest.
Blurred vision – Difficulty focusing due to fluctuating blood sugar levels.
Slow-healing wounds or infections – Cuts, bruises, or infections take longer to heal.
Tingling or numbness in hands and feet – Caused by nerve damage (diabetic neuropathy).
Darkened skin patches (Acanthosis Nigricans) – Dark, velvety skin in areas like the neck, armpits, or groin, often a sign of insulin resistance.

To enroll in the Diabetes Prevention Program you must be 18 years of age or older, have BMI of ≥ 25 kg/m2 (≥ 23 kg/m2, if Asian American) and must also have no previous diagnosis of type 1 or type 2 diabetes. In addition, you must have one of the following:
1. Blood test: Fasting glucose of 100 to 125 mg/dI or plasma glucose (2 hours) 140 to 199 mg/dI or A1C of 5.7 to 6.4
or
2. GDM: Clinically diagnosed gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) during previous pregnancy
or
3. Pre-diabetes Screening Test: CDC/ADA Prediabetes Screening Test score of 5 or above https://www.cdc.gov/prediabetes/takethetest/

A Healthcare Professional may refer potential participants
Blood test must be recent, i.e. within the past year
